i live in north yorkshire near middlesbrough!

Approx how many grapes will i need to start making my own wine?

Thanks Loads

There is a vineyard in wakefield where they produce a small amount of "Yorkshire Wine". There are no vineyards further north as the climate is too poor (it's very marginal in wakefield but somehow they manage it).

If you want better quality grapes go further South, the best wineries are in the South East and Wales. Not sure how many you need to make wine, guess it depends how much you want to make !

The majority of vineyards are in the southern half of the counrty. Not all are open to the public. As to the quantity of grapes...all recipes vary...

You should be able to make 3 -6 bottles from one vine - at least that is what I get, depending on vintage.

North Yorkshire? Looks like

I can't tell you were the nearest vineyard is but I can tell you, you will need about 14 lbs of grapes per gallon of wine.
