hi i have alloy wheels on my car can i put normal tyres on them or do they have to

be low profile ? they have low profile on there now but its to low keep hitting the sump on speed humps +++++++ things
 
u can go with a bigger profile tire just make sure that your wheel wells can clear the bigger tire while you turn and such.
 
You can put any tire you like as long as they are not to big as to rub on the wheel well. Usually not a problem. Keep in mind that the speedometer and the power will be off slightly.
 
See a qualified tire shop. They will advise you on a proper tire to use. They do not charge for advice or quotes.
 
Your car should have a specific overall tyre diameter (or rolling radius) - the fact that the sump is getting caught means either the overall tyre size is low or the suspension is lowered (or very low to start with). It would help if we knew the make, model & year of your car & the current tyre size.
