HI i have lost my samsung d900i password?

i have lost my password to my sasmsung d900i phone and i was wondering if there is a way to reset it. i know when i go onto settings it says reset settings but i try and it will ask me for the password that i dont know so if anyone knows how to reset the password that would be great or even try to get the password back.
