i am very much interested in making apps. I have a laptop & lots of free time. I wanna know how can one makes apps ?? What programming languages are used in making it ???

Usually, iPhone apps are made in xCode.
Since you want to make both Android and iOS Apps, I recommend using AS3 and Flash's built in iOS and Android app compiler.
But first, it'll cost you.
Adobe Flash CS5.5 is about $700. If you're a student you can get it for about $200.
Then you'll need the Dev certificate from Apple, which is $100.
After that, you'll need some programming knowledge.

easiest program to use is Eclipse and most apps use Java as their primary language.
You can use Googles App Intentor tool but this is ending sometime in January as google is discontinuing it. You can download the Android Software Development Kit (SDK) for free from android.com
try to find the book Android Development for Dummies, it will get you pointed in the right direction.
