Honda 2002 Odyssey transmission problem?

Just recently on our Odyssey a problem has started occuring. When accelerating the transmission will not shift from 1st to 2nd gear, right now its only occasional, once a week maybe. Is this some sort of sensor or low fluid problem or a big time transmission problem?
 
Same issue

Same symptoms. Brought my 02 Odyssey to the dealer for diagnosis, paid the diagnostic fee to be told that the transmission and computer need to be replaced. The cost (almost $5k)made me stop pursuing this issue for now.
