Hello everyone. I own a CG125 chinese copy, which im told is near enough identical in its workings as the genuine one.
A couple of days ago, I was riding home when my lights became dimmer and dimmer, and eventually went out. The indicators were dead too as was the horn.
I got a ride home, and charged the battery, and the next day the same thing happened. The battery just went flat.
So I assumed that the bike was not generating any charge.
I took the generator cover off, cleaned everything up (though there was minimal dirt) put everything back and tried it. It was still the same.
The bike kick-starts ok though without any trouble, and rides fine.
It just doesn't charge its battery.
I am drawn towards thinking that the regulator/rectifier is at fault.. since ive gone over all the wires, everything is secure. Also since the bike is generating voltage to power the coil and is running.
What do you think? Anyone else suspect the regulator/rectifier?
Thanks for any help.
Tony
Just a point to note, the bike is about 8 months old and done about 7200 KM
