I have an old Aiwa Stereo system, its about 8 years old. Im trying to hook it up to my friends HD TV. I got "Stereo Audio" cables from RadioShack but I cant seem to get the sound to come out of the TV. Im thinking I either need to change some settings on the TV or I need a different cable.

The cable I currently have has a red and a white input on both ends. Im thinking I need a different cable. If anyone has any ideas thanks for helpin out
The back of mt stereo has the red/white outputs, and the TV has both the red/white and also a audio in input that is separate from the other plug-ins. .
The Stereo i have is a Aiwa CX-NA202

You prob need to go into the audio settings of the TV and enable external speakers.

If the stereo is a 5.1 setup, you should use a digital connection. I'm sure the TV has a digital audio output (optical or coax) but you didn't specify whether the stereo does or not. Your cables should work but you can't get 5.1 DD using those.

If it's just a 2 channel stereo, just connect using rca stereo cables (red/white) from the TV's red/white audio out.
