I'm moving into my aunt and uncles and I want tv in my room. They currently have 2 directv boxes. If I get another box on eBay or use one of their old ones. Can I just hook it up myself? They only have 2 coax cables coming from the dish, one to each of the current boxes. Can I get a splitter for satellites and safely use that to hook up a box in my room? I just don't wanna mess anything up with what they already have installed.

You would have to split the signal before it comes out of their receiver and add enough coax cable to make it to your room.
DTV receivers have access cards in the front and you might get caught if you don't register it. You might also be buying a hot or stolen receiver.
