I have a Plantronics Pulsar 590A BT headset. I have had it for a while and used to use it for Skype mostly. I am pretty sure that it used to worked like regular USB or 3.5 headsets did as well (i.e. I can listen to other audio on my computer as well).
Anyhow, I stopped using them for a while with Skype (I just use my integrated microphone and speakers on my Inspiron). However, I recently wanted to start using them again. So, now when I pair the headset I can get it to connect. Under my BT devices, it has 2 items under audio - Bluetooth Hands-Free Audio and Bluetooth Stereo Audio. What is the difference between these?
Under services, I also have all checked.
Now, under my audio playback devices, I have both listed as well and when I test each one of them they work, although the hands-free audio tends to be very delayed in responding.
I can get it to work with Skype. However, I cannnot get any other audio (in this case a song playing in WMP) to play through the headset. No matter what I do - I can disable all other playback devices and it still plays out of my computer speakers.
I thought that when a BT headset is connected that it automatically plays through those first (like if I had plugged in 3.5s or a USB). Am I incorrect in that statement?
So any suggestions on how I can get these to actually play the audio when they are connected? Thanks.
