It's because there is no creativity, no expression, and usually no talent in mainstream artists.
It's all autotune and hired writers.

Well, they are worse for me because at least as for 'pop-punk' that "whine", I can relate to a heart break feeling. As for what Lil Wayne raps about, I cannot relate to big booty hoes shakin' it and grindin' it on me...or riding dope ass cars.
