how are roger and mr dimmesdlae alike?

in the scarlet letter how are they alike? i have that they are both involved with hesster and that their personalitys affect their outsides. also how r they different? i have to write a contrast essay but idk how to do it without a similarity paragraph. do i just write 2 paragraphs one on roger and the other describing mr dimmsdale?
