Square to Financial has bought my account with Citi cards (sears). After a long bout on unemployment and only making small payments on my account, I was contacted by Cambece Law Offices in Massachusetts saying that I now owe them. They and Citi (sears) will not tell me how much my account was purchased for, or what fees were added to the account upon their acquisition of my debt. My account was past due by 1 month when they(Cambece) had purchased it, I was told by an associate of Cambece Law Offices that it was because I had told them (Citi) I was on unemployment and struggling and that I was going to lose my UI benefits very soon. It seems to me that it is a very unethical practice to not give someone a chance to respond before they sell off your debt to the next shark looking suck you dry.......I was honest in that I have financial hardships and couldn't afford much more than small payments - but my honesty was not rewarded here. It was taken advantage of. Now my credit is scarred for a while and I'm screwed. Help.
