How can I burn an Imovie on a DVD if I don't have a dvd burner?

I just finished an imovie project on my macbook that is about 15 minutes long. When I tried to pop the DVD in to burn it, the DVD just pops right back out. Long story short, I just realized that my mac does not burn DVD's. Therefore I need to somehow export the Imovie onto my desktop so I can burn it onto a DVD from there. Does anyone know how I can do that? I tried to export it onto a flash drive but that clearly didn't work. HELPPP!!!
 
Without a DVD burner, it's impossible to burn anything to a DVD. If the imovie program has an Export option, use it to export the project as a different movie file then you can just "put it on" the DVD, but it won't be burnt to the DVD.
