I have an Acer Aspire 5050 laptop and went to use my cd/dvd drive an nothing happened! It wouldn't work. So I checked my computer and it says that I have 0 bytes of free space left of 2.49 GB! I don't even know how that happened! So i'm hoping that someone can tell me how I can free up some space or tell me how to get more space. Any help will be Greatly Appreciated!..Thanks in Advance.

The 2.5 Gigs that the drive is taking up are theoretical, as one can't actually save data on a CD drive, unless you insert a CD in there and burn the data to it. At least, that's what I understood your question asked for.

What are you trying to use your dvd/cd drive for?

To store stuff? Just put another dvd in and burn data to it then.

You should be able to run whatever is on the dvd/cd that is in the drive or copy it to your computer, but you cannot delete stuff off a cd that is in the dvd/cd drive, you have to get a new cd.

You can store lots of stuff on your D or C drive however.
