how can i get my dog to stop whining and barking when outside or in cage and

snapping at my children? he also will not stop trying to get our food while eating he isnt so bad when i am home im a male but when im at work an its just my wife and kids he thinks he can do whatever he wants

I have a golden retriever who used to do that when she was younger, and I have had 2 other dogs before. Usually they just mature as they get older. But a suggestion for now would be to use a stern voice when punishing it. Have your kids spend time so that it learns that these people are family and it has to good to them. When it steals food take two fingers and hit it not lightly or really hard on the snout. That doesn't hurt them but it gives them a wakeup call. Hope this helps.

Whenever you hear it say no firmly and the put the dog on a short leash with one side attatched to the doorknob inside so that the dog is sitting directly outside of the door and cannot move much or see anyone. Next time you say no the dog will probably listen better. It worked with mine.
