how can i get my PC to be the same speed it was 6months ago, error reported each

time i try to get internet ? every day when i open my Pc it takes a good 15 minutes to work prior to this i have an error reported each time i try to connect to the internet, how can i clear this .regards Fay Scott

When I work on people's computers that are running slow I installsoftware like "window washer" and "adaware". Also it helps to clean the registry. Use a program called regvac. Just google these programs and download. Some are free and some have free trials. It will work wonders though...

only way to get it back to the way it was is to reinstall windows. and keep programs to a minimum. but i suspect your slow startups are due to viruses, spyware and having too little RAM.

system restore would have your computer running as it was before but you may lose valuable information so make a copy of all you want to keep.

Run CCleaner - to clean your pc (make sure you also use CCleaner's Registry Cleaner also.


Do a virus scan on your pc by:


Go to www.microsoft.com
Security & Updates tab click for Home Users
Next, Under the Security Products bar located to the right of the screen, select Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner.

if your using window go to start/programmes/accessories/system tools/ disk fragmentation,
run the disk defrag couple of times this will clean up your disk space by shuffling around the loose files and removing empty or unused files
it may take a few hours to complete each time but it should speed up your system
