How can I make my Bittorrent go faster????????/?

My bittorrent is going real slow(6) and I have a connection of 512kb/sec.I have 312 seeds and 1197 peers and my port is forwaded properly.What can I do to get it to go faster???
 
You can only receive as fast as the people sending the files too you. One way to look at it. Let's say you can catch 10,000 baseballs a second and there are 100 people that can only throw 10 baseballs per second then you will seem slower and bored. Were you can catch more but the people throwing them can throw them as fast as they can. In reverse if you can only catch 100 balls and 10 people can throw 100 balls per sec some of the balls are going to fall to the wayside and you will only catch what you can...Thanks
 
many guys posted videos in the youtube with tricks on the settings, check them.
 
If ported correctly and your bandwidth isn't being used for anything else then there really isn't nothing to be done. Your speed of course is dependent on your actual internet connection speed. 512Kb/sec isn't bad, if it seems slow it must be a huge file you are downloading. Also it depends on the upload speeds of the people you are connecting to. If they have a slow internet connection or set their torrent client to a predetermined speed you will download slowly. I have a 256Kb upload rate and download rate of 6Mb from my ISP and can download at about 750Kb/sec but it depends on those factors, sometimes I might only download at 5Kb/sec.
