How can I play DivX movie files on quicktime on my Mac?

I'm trying to play divX (avi) movie files on my Mac. I'm now using VLC and that works fine. However, I need to be able to open the files on quicktime if I wanna view them using the quicklook or front row. I got it to work at some point but now quicktime just gives me an image, no sound.
