How can I put pine tar on my baseball helmet like MLB players do?

This season I want to put pine tar on my batting helmet as the pros do. The only problem is, I'm not quite sure how they make it look so good. Does anybody know how to do it like the pros or is there a special type of pine tar I could use? I know how to simply put it on my helmet, but I want it to look good. Thanks, guys.
 
Put it on your gloves and when you mess with putting on your helmet youll end up getting pine tar on your helmet
 
I would venture to say that the pros don't use any specific method. What happens is they use it on their bat and gloves for grip purposes and then adjust their helmet with the dirty glove. I wouldn't over think it.
 
I nominate this the stupidest question of the month.

I defy anyone to find a more stupid question.
