How can I tell if my lg renoir cell phone id refurbished?

Hi, I bought this phone from Ebay from Hong Kong a couple of weeks ago and the phone keeps turning itself off and freezing and the only way to fix it is taking the battery out. I would like to know if anyone out there knows how to tell if the phone is refurb, it looks new and I have never ever dropped it. Thanks
