how can i tell my family im emo?

the female side of my family are all really girlie and princess-y etc but i am more on the emo side. i dont know how to tell my mum because she has always wanted a really girlie type of daughter and i am the only one she has. how can i tell her that im emo without dissapointing her because nothing i do is ever good enough?
