getting big")? I have a female and a male cherry barb. The male is a bright red color and the female is a kinda brownish color. Recently, the male has been chasing the female around and they looked like they were playing with each other (making swirls and criss-crossing each other.) They follow each other around the tank all the time. How can i tell if the female cherry barb is pregnant?? Thank you!!

They don't get pregnant. They are egg scatters & the male swims by & fertilizes them.

thats incorrect. they are live bearers. you will need a breeding tank to put the female in for when she has the babies. she will get noticeably large and have a black belly. if you dont use a breeding tank they will eat their babies.

Actually, cherry barbs are, in fact, egg-layers... (I have cherry barbs, and they have had fry)
