Whenever I'm walking my dog and we pass other people my dog always pulls on the leash and tries to go and greet them. (He walks fine on the leash otherwise)

So how can I train him to walk past other people without paying attention to them?

Just like when you walk past a dog you dont want your dog to meet, say "LEAVE IT" in a stern voice that maked them think I'd better not do that. If you do that as your approching the person your dog should think twice about doing it. If they do well make sure you give lots of praise once you have gone past.

Or

If your dog likes treats get them to sit so when they person walks past the dogs back will be facing them, if they look at them and look back at you thats good so you can give them a treat. Then walk on once the persons gone.

Yeah i agree with the first answer. If he does this again just pull back the leash, look at him and tell him "NO." If he keeps doing it just keep repeating the process and eventually he'll catch on that he shouldn't greet people while going for a walk.

Tug back on the leash and tell him no. If you let your dog keep on doing this he will not stop doing this.
