I have a recipe that call for a ghirardelli 60% chocolate Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Bar. I have Ghirardelli 60% bittersweet chocolate chips. Can I use the chips in the recipe and get the same results?

The chips and the bars are EXACTLY the same - I checked the ingredients one time and they were the same. The chips were like 1/3 the cost though and if you are melting the chocolate, you need to break it up anyway use the chips.

That depends on the application, but probably.

Chips have stabilizers in them to prevent them from completely melting at moderate temperatures, but you can melt them in a saucepan or double boiler if you need them to be melted.
