How can one be sure one's religion is true if one hasn't studied them all?

Most Western religions have diverged from ancient Jewish scriptures. They can't all be true, so the main influences must be: family upbringing, cultural society, geographical location and evangelism. Not a sound logical basis for a true religion since there must be hundreds of versions. I'm fairly certain that most religious people would not claim God has spoken directly to them; personally that is.
