everyone is given the same chances in life...ive worked since i left school and i even started uni when i was a single mum so it really gets my back up when people say they cant find a job! if jobs are so hard to find then why are there websites and papers with job ads in them? some people are so lazy, they probably know how to milk the system. im not against benefits if people really need help and have falledn on hard times but to say you cant find a job is just utter rubbish.

im fed up of people saying they cant find a job. i've been out of work 3 times in my life and every time i found a job within 2 months. are these people just lazy and want to sit at home on benefits? whats your view
for those saying i dont live in the real world, i'm a van driver on minimum wage with 5 kids. i can afford to live but dont have any spare money. i could sponge off the state and only be £200 a month worse off. but i choose to work becouse i have pride in myself

My view is that it isn't always easy for people to find a job. It's a reasonable complaint. You may have been able to get work but not everyone is that lucky. You should develop your empathy and pay attention to reality.
Granted, there are lazy people on benefits but they are a minority.
Most people want their Independence and want to work.

Are you the type of person that will do anything to make a buck? I am. I would have scrubbed toilets if that is what it took to feed my kids. My sister, on the other hand, won't do anything not related to her field, no matter what. I watched her sit for six months and not work when she could have been doing something. Another downfall for some folks, they live in the middle of no where in a town so small you can spit from one end to the other. There are no jobs in a town like that. They should consider moving.

they just say they cant find a job as its the easy option
I'm with you on this one, I have always worked and have done some really awful jobs over the years to earn enough money
I think some people have absolutely no intention of working and are very content to sit at home and rake in the benefits

I heard a couple of very young single mums in the post office moaning because their benefit wasnt in their account early enough they thought for the bank holiday and then they went on to say all the things they planned to buy and where they were going once they got their money through.
It does make me very cross sometimes, when i had my son I got 6 weeks maternity leave and then had to go back to work full time

What sort of fantasy world does this man live in? In London, there are plenty of McJobs, and only someone living with parents or in multi-occupant squalor could live on the pay.

For anything better, get in line with the other hundreds.

In the real world of the rest of Britain, there are fewer McJobs, and anything better isn't that much better paid.

Of course, you could always go and die for the US Empire in Afghanistan...

The owners of 'the economy' are laughing their heads off at us.

Same as you. But don't be so hard on people that you don't know. Every case is different and since we don't know the circumstances why they haven't found a new job we cannot jump to irresponsible conclusions that they are just lazy.

Yes, generally they have no work ethic.
This is tolerated in the UK, in other counrties people will work regardless even if it "Doesn't fulfil their career ambitions" etc. In the UK people (especially third-fourth generation doleys) do not understand the benefits of work pride/money/provision.

It sikens me to see workers in Africa busting their gut to pay for their kids to go to school and then in the Uk (and most 1st world countries) kids can't even be arsed turning up for a free education, the world is screwed.

People can't find a job because for some there aren't jobs to be found! I've been looking, and have been accused of NOT looking, because I haven't been hired by anyone, because no one has been hiring. The economy sucks, I'm a kid about to finish high school, no one wants to hire anyone around town because they already have "promised" people. And for many others out there, (lack of experience, or just minimal or centered experience) the call for certain jobs is lacking. Have you not seen the news? People can and will only hold jobs for so long before being tossed out - or before being forced to look somewhere else because pay is bad.

Just because you have a job and a steady life doesn't mean everyone else has to, get off your high horse and look around from everyone else's point of view, then see what it's like.

Most times -
people are really saying
that they don't want to do what needs to be done,
for the amount of money/benefits being offered. . .

I'm 28 and live in London. I have three degrees in law including professional qualifications as a solicitor.

I have unsuccessfully applied for over 100 jobs in the past month or so mostly minor office jobs which I am by far qualified enough to do.

I however don't seem to get anything .. mainly because I suspect Britain is an institutionally racist nation which reserves gainful employment for white people.

Its not as though people are fond of seeking benefits. The only reason the state doles out benefits is to placate the unemployed undesirables, perhaps to prevent a long due revolution.

yeah, i think no one wants to start at the bottom so they have expectations that are way too high... either that or they are too lazy or maybe they are a convicted felon and well then it is hard to find a job if you have a criminal record.
