...we are arguing about whether or not ..? ... Santorum said a one-syllable word!? Why should we debate anything out here if we are not going to be honest about something as simple as if he did or did not say "black"!? Some cons out here actually are trying to say that Santorum didn't say it. Santorum, when talking about FOOD STAMPS and welfare in general, did say "black people.". The link is below, but the man clearly said “I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money." AND my question is not about the issues of welfare. It is about SINGLING OUT black people AS IF they are the only ones on food stamps. (Whites actually are the higher percentage in the nation at 34% with blacks at 22%) But Santorum lied later and said he didn't say "blacks" and said he was stuttering or mumbling and wasn't specifically talking about any one group. So then, to whom was he referring when he said "They" and "Them" in the sentences that followed? Santorum lacks the guts to admit he messed up and to just apologize. But no, he has to lie, then pretty much say, like Gingrich, "Don't believe what you heard me say before, believe what I'm saying now!" This is what happens when liars and idiots run for president, and this will not follow him in this campaign!

Santorum will never be president for a lot of reasons.

I viewed your video and believe he swallowed his Freudian slip somewhat, but he meant what he said.

Of course he said "black." He even says he said "black." Bill O'Reilly last night jumped Santorum for singling out blacks.

In the middle of a 99 county, eight million pizza parlor whirwind of an Iowa campaign, the guy said one word he shouldn't have. And now some people are going to call it some sort of racist slip-up. Damn, if we can't get past the charges of racism over and over and over and over again we really will get nowhere.

"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)"

Agreed with other posters, this place just isn't structured for meaningful debate.
It's in the basic design of the site / system. I can mark a post "up" or "down" but not nuance what I agreed / disagreed with or make replies. This is not a "forum".
