How can you do alt codes without a mac computer?

I love doing alt codes, but I only know a couple, I have a Compaq computer and I want to do more alt codes such as the snowman or something like that. I will try big numbers like that because I already know how to do it but what happends when I do it, it does this 3.. I do it on the number key pad because I know Not to do it on the number's above the letters. I do not want to copy and paste or use a character map because its not showing me how to do it.. I really want a Mac computer so I can do all those stuff with it but I am probably not going to get one. So, how do I do cool alt codes with my Compaq computer? I know how to do alt codes from 0-201. But half of them are letters and numbers. So how do I Get cool alt codes (Such as the snowman, star, sun, etc..) So please help me on how to do that! No mean comments please either.
