how can you save programs from a DirecTV DVR?

My DirecTV DVR is nearly full, and I want to save some of the programs off of it. If possible, I would prefer to be able to save them in the HD format they were recorded in.
 
You can't because of copy protection. Your best bet is to get a larger hard disk. Weaknees can give you up to a 2 terabyte hard drive and even copy over all your existing programs to the new hard drive.
