How come I try to make friends everyone ends up laughing at me?

Everytime I try to make friends the right way and literally I get laughed at by the whole school like im a laughing stock? I go to highschool and everyone makes fun of me for no reason. No matter what I do, the same story happens over and over again. Its like a "to do list" where the school makes fun of me and then does something interesting? Im a 16 guy in highschool why does this keep happening?
