a ban on gay marriage is discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation............

but not on the basis of gender?

A man and a woman do NOT have the same rights.
Can a man marry a woman? YES
Can a woman marry a woman? NO

Thus, discrimination on the basis of GENDER.

How come lawyers never argue that in a court of law?

Instead, they always stick to the "sexual orientation" argument.

Because it is not discrimination based on gender. A woman can marry a man, a man can marry a woman. A man can't marry a man, a woman cannot marry a woman. That is equal in regards to gender. It's not an issue of gender, it is an issue of sexual orientation. Your argument is a fallacy. Sorry, but you're wrong and I'm gay.

Actually, they have made that argument, as well as the sexual orientation argument. But realize that under the US constitution, women do not have equal rights.

Hi Los,

I am sure why that is, but I did find u some information, on this subject. Maybe, the people they are representing, may have a different point of view on the subject. There believe, of, how it should be, might get in the way, of why its not br
