...things like the church contributing? to the holocaust and even turning in their own members for sterilization and in some cases murder. These are just a couple examples of how the Christians have killed and harmed many people throughout history and yet whenever i bring up the topic its 100% avoided. I believe in god but Im 100% whole heardedly against organized religion, it spills more blood then anything else
its within the last 100 years the holocaust and similar things are still taking place

They are obviously ashamed of it so much they want to conceal it from the public because it affects their image and therefore public appeal. You can't really find a form of Christianity that isn't organised in its own way, so you're in a bad situation right there.

Maybe they are not history buffs and they are more interested in looking ahead to Heaven than looking back at shameful instances in the past when "professing" Christians used religion to shield evil intentions.

Yeah the roman catholic church has more kills than the entire Call of Duty 4 community combined, I am not surprised most people avoid it, because it helps to disprove their religious beliefs.

It's simply because the three religions (islam , christianity and judaism ) believe in the holy lands ya know
we take 3 kids who want to get hold of a big piece of cake and they all have the same desire , Imagine what they'll do to each others

But needless to say , Crusaders were one hell of a bloody greedy people :/

The Crusaders had their own agenda, but it really was about winning back territory that had been conquered by the Arabs. Organized religion in the past was used for political purposes - the ordinary people were not warlike. My church among thousands gives a lot to the world through our Mission and Services fund. How many Atheists are collectively giving like that?
