How did I pick up Chicken pox?

The dr told me today that my sores all over my body are chickenpox. I was adopted, so my health past is sketchy. My son goes to Mother's Day out twice a week and just got back in from the Christmas break. Where and how could an adult get chickenpox?
I am in my 20s. Its supposed to not be common for adults to get this.
 
It's not common for adults to get it because most of them have already been exposed and had it. Your son likely was the carrier and brought it home, thus passing it on to you.
