How did Jim Rogers and Richard Rainwater predict the oil crisis in 1998?

They were bying oil stocks in 1998

with oil at 10 bucks a bbl.

They knew that a crisis was coming in 2001.

Value is how you get rich.

Never chase stocks.

Never buy at te top.
 
Jim Rogers writes great books.

My opinion is he influences alot of markets.

That being said, he has traveled extensively and understands economics. He got around enough to know that oil consumption was going to explode once capitalism reached Communist countries.
 
Oil is a boom and bust, shortage and surplus business. At $10.00 it wasnt that hard to predict. Same thing happened ten years before.
