How did the couple who sneaked past security and attended and mingled with the elite?

They didn't sneak past security..they simply walked in by error of the secret service or had inside help, but they still had to follow security procedures. Plus they weren't just any average couple, the wife was supposed to be apart of Desperate Housewives for D.C.
 
We can not stop the illegals at the border so you expect them to stop the rich and famous at the White House?.....

Hopefully they did have to go through a metal detector and got sniffed by bomb dogs.
