How did you work rice cereal into the routine?
What did you start with first, veggies or fruit?
What did they like best?
Were you breastfeeding or bottle?
Did it help your baby sleep through the night better?
I started giving my son a few spoonfuls of rice cereal around 5 months, in the late afternoon, which seemed to work best for us. After he'd been eating the cereal for about a month, I added fruits and veggies one at a time. I can't remember which ones I did first, but his favorites were sweet potato, carrots, and all fruits. I made my own baby food when I could (soft stuff like bananas, easy to mash). I usually fed him his solid food right before my own dinner. I don't think it helped him sleep through the night, but then he was a pretty good sleeper by that point anyway. Oh, yeah, and I breastfed.
i never offered cereal first. i actually started with applesauce in the morning. i did that for about a week then introduced a veggie. i always give him a new food in the morning. he pretty much eats everything except dairy, citrus and meat now. he is mostly bf, but gets a bottle if i have to work away from home. he was sleeping well before i introduced foods.
i heard that puttingcereal in the bottle makes kids overweight so i didnt do that with mine i just trid it one morning with the milk and it worked so then i just started feeding that more often, i started with veggies so they would like them when they get older and they do sqash for my son and carrots for my daughter. she liked greenbeans the best even after fruit was introduced and my son liked them the best too. i breastfeed them both for the first 2 weeks then started just pumping for the next week then i just did formula because i didnt thinki ate helthy enough for them ( i dont like veggies that much im more of a mcdonalds girl eat fatfood 3 times a day but doesnt matter i dont gain weight from it) and my kids always slept throug the night since they were born
