I need to buy a basic guide to excel as its needed to university, the problem is I don't know which edition to buy. I have the 2007 edition on my computer at home but in class we used the 2003 software. I am planning to buy either excel 2003 or excel 2007 for dummies books. Does it really matter which book I buy? For example will I be able to follow the 2007 book whilst working on excel 2003 software? or has th softwae changed alot between 2003 and 2007? Thanks in advance. Regards good people

As one of the very good people here let me answer...

The differences are not substantial and either versions of the book will be of assistance. But, to recommend one? Get 2007 version. You have that software and, eventually, so will your class. Until then you'll find most things are very much the same (though the Ribbon Vs Menus will be something you need to translate between) and, unless you're into really abstruse functions then all that you need will be largely the same.
