order? How many accidents have to happen, and how many people have to be killed or injured before they finally look at the situation and decide to do a recall? I am just wondering. And if you have a source I would greatly appreciate it. Someone told me once they wait for a certain amount of people to be killed, before they order a recall for a safety related item, such as gas pedals sticking, differentials locking up, etc.

When a problem is seen to be happening to a number of vehicles. Usually when drivers report the same symptoms or investigation reports are seriously inclined. Sometimes they realise there is a problem when the part manufacturers find a troublesome unit they have made as well.
