I am getting a new media room and i would like to load all of my dvds onto a hard drive so that i could therefore just click on the movie i wanted and it would play. I was wondering what would be the best way to copy it to my computer without losing much quality, and what program to play it with (i'm pretty sure windows media player would be sufficient if it is the right file type). Thanks a lot.

ripping movies is a good way but you need a program to do it. Watch this, it shows how to do it http://lifehacker.com/355281/dvd-rip-automates-one+click-dvd-ripping
Both link is good tutorial to do it.

Say thanks!

I hope you have a big hard drive. Each movie even if compressed with a program like DVD Shrink will take up about 4.5 GB of hard drive space. Even more if not compressed.
