how do i clean my dirt bike?

I just got a 1997 kx 125 and i want to clean my fmf pipe and bike what do i use and what cant i spray and do i have to cover anything (air filter and how do i do so if needed)

I prefer the Power Washer method my self ( coin op hand held wand type car wash ) Simply avoid direct close spray on any gauges, the area of the fuel filler cap and the soft covering of the seat - around these items direct the spray from a distance of about 2 feet. Also use caution around Decals because the power washer can strip them off. Plastic and Rubber items other than the tires should be cleaned with the wand about a foot from the surface. Tires and metal components can be sprayed at about 4 to 6 inches if necessary to obtain good cleaning performance but only get as close as you need to to get the surface clean of dirt and oil, remember that the power washer will not remove stains or corrosion and attempting to do so may cause damage. The air cleaner should be adequately shielded as long as all covers and shields are in place. Also do not spray a HOT engine just after shutting it off, always allow the engine to cool enough that you can touch it momentarily without burning your finger to prevent the possibility of cracking an engine casting.
