how do I clear room in my Android's memory?

I've had a Motorola Milestone for a few months now and am just wondering how to make space in the memory....I only have a couple of apps downloaded and it was working fine up until a couple of days ago when it started to slow down drastically.

Now, everything is lagging and nothing seems to be going anywhere
so, how do you clean the history/cache?

download an app killer app
with android, they keep apps running in the background, you need to remeber to exit out of them otherwise they will slow the phone dowwwn

first stop all of your apps using a task killer and reboot the phone clear you cache history and cookies in the web browser then go on google click full site at the bottom now go here https://www.google.com/history/edit?q=&start=0&hl=en&prev=/find and click the remove button thats on the left or there's one on the top
