How do I connect a Motorola HS850 Bluetooth headset to a Nextel i880?

My dad wants to know how he can connect the headset to his nextel. On his phone, he'll go to his menu, choose the blue tooth setting and choose 'link to devices', but it cant find the device. How can I make it so he is able to use the headset?
