I have 5lbs of beef back ribs, I don't have a grill but my oven has the option to bake or broil. I also have a crock pot. I'm not sure where to cook these or for how long. Do I put seasoning on the before adding the sauce?
thanks so muc

Cut the ribs into manageable pieces.
Optionally dredge with flour or rub with spices.
Either brown in hot oil in a skillet,
or place in roasting pan under the broiler.
When browned on all sides, transfer to crockpot.
Add a can of consommé or onion soup mix & water.
You can also add a cup of red wine, if desired.
Throw in a few quartered onions & celery sticks.
Cover & cook on high for 3-5 hours, or low for 5-7 hours.
If you don't want to use the crockpot, you can braised in the oven.
Just add the liquids & vegetables to the roasting pan.
Then braise at 350F for up to an hour, until tender.

MOIST AND TENDER OVEN BAKED BBQ RIBS

Bake at 250°F for one hour - remove from oven - turn meat. Bake at 250°F for one hour - remove from oven. Drain and add barbeque sauce as needed - increase heat to 400°F. Bake 30 minutes. Remove from oven and serve.

This is what I do, and they are fall off the bone good!
Oven at 275
Buy a large disposable foil pan (they can be found at any grocery store)

I make a rub out of paprika, brown sugar, sugar, pepper, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, onion powder, kosher salt. I don't measure I just dump some of the spices in a bowl until I think I have enough to rub down the whole rack of ribs. If I run out I make more! :)

Place the ribs in the pan (no need to grease the pan) and rub down both sides with your spice mix.

Pour 3/4 can beer or coke around the edges of the pan. Cover with foil. Drink the rest of the Beer or Coke.

Place in oven and forget about them for the next 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours.

When the meat pulls away from bone with a fork and a light touch remove the foil. Baste with BBQ and place back in the oven for 20-30 min. Or until the BBQ becomes tacky to the touch. Like they would be had they been cooked on a grill with BBQ sauce.

Remove from the oven and enjoy!

I like to place mine on a big wooden meat platter and cut up before letting people dig in because the basically fall apart. They kill every time! Hope this helps.
