There is this guy in my homeroom who I'm friends with. Just. friends. But my friend thinks I like him, just because I get along with him really well. She's all "OMG you like him you like him!" and then she told my other friends, who are telling their other friends, and now almost everyone thinks I like him. I don't care that much, but I don't want him to hear it, think it's true, and then have things get awkward between us. And now my friend is LYING about things I said. This morning, she goes "But you TOLD me you liked him! You said he was cute!" And I didn't! How do I keep this FALSE rumor from getting out of control?
Yeah, I'm not going to "get back" at my friend. First off, that won't do me any good, and secondly, she doesn't realize she's done a bad thing. She probably truly does believe I told her I like him.
