I've been listening in on some 2 way communications of taxis lately and I noticed the dispatcher knows whoever clicks their microphones (obviously the radio sends a selcall every time the ptt button is pressed) . The thing is, I don't hear any selcall sound and it must do it pretty quickly broadcasting the car number all in less than 3/10 of a second. (not the usual 2 seconds of musical notes). Anyone know how this is achieved or how to tell what car number is talking ?
