How do I delete pictures or ringtones from samsung star wifi GT-S5233w?

I just purchased the SAMSUNG STAR WiFi GT-S5233W last week. I have no problem with it what so ever except for one thing. There are photos and ringtones(songs) in the phone that was already set in there. I want to delete these photos/songs but I cant because its under some "system" thing that I dont understand, and it will only offer to delete the photos/songs I put in there myself.
Please, PLEASE help me.
Its taking up a lot of space in my phone and so I cant even take one single picture with the phone's camera.
