We adopted 2 kittens at 6 weeks old. They are now 8 weeks. When they came they were both litter trained now for some reason the little girl seems to go everywhere but the litter tray. We keep the litter tray immaculate and place her in there after every meal but she cant get the hang of it? and we dont know how to discipline her as we know shouting at her just makes her fear us. Has anyone experienced similar problems?

You could try spaying her with a water botlle when see goes where she is not suppose to. And when she does go in the litter box parise her with a treat. But don't forget the other cat as well. I she sees you giver the other a treat. It will become jelous and do the ame as the other and feel left out.

You cant discipline a cat they are not intelligent to know what they are being punished for. 8 weeks is still very young she will get used to using the litter tray in time. Shouting at her is definitely not going to help

Give her a chance! You shouldn't really remove kittens from their mother until they are at least 8 weeks old - the mother would have trained her! She'll get the idea eventually but she is still such a baby. Cats are inherently clean and so time will do the trick. She is too little to be sprayed with water in the face or otherwise.

Dont empty the litter tray so often, they go where it smells. Also make sure what your using to wash where she is going is the right stuff to remove all of the smell, normal cleaners won't do it. Get an empty water bottle filled with a few stones and shake it when you catch her doing anything you don't want her to and than you won't need to shout.
