How do I 'discuss the genre'?

I'm doing a book report on Uglies, and it says to 'discuss the genre'. I have no idea what that means, but I know the genre is Science Fiction.
 
(I hope this helps. I'm not very good with genres)

Discuss the genre means to write about how it is a Science Fiction book and give examples why it is a Science Fiction.
