How do I fix my internet spikes?

Okay, every now and then, I get a lag spike which pretty much disconnects me and then reconnects quicky (Somthing like that). This is effecting the way I game because it bothers all the other players around me (Ex. GunZ: The Duel). I have a wireless internet connection if that has anything to do with it. Any suggestions?
