how do i fix windows 7 desktop gadgets?

When i click on a gadget it does not open i've tried looking for answers online but i don't know what to do. Do i need to uninstall the whole program and then reinstall it and redownload the gadgets???
 
I believe you have to have Aero Peek enabled to run gadgets. Enable Aero Peek in the task bar.
